The Gen-Y 7.5" Drop 4500kg Torsion-Flex Hitch with 50mm and 70mm Versa-Ball combines heavy-duty towing capacity, broad height adjustment and Gen-Y’s patented Torsion-Flex technology in one versatile towing system. Supplied with the dual-size 50mm and 70mm Versa-Ball, it is an ideal choice for owners and operators who regularly tow trailers fitted with different ball coupling sizes.
Rated for towing loads up to 4,500kg with a maximum 500kg tongue weight, the 7.5" drop hitch body provides five adjustable positions. This extended adjustment range helps match the tow ball height to different trailer drawbars, while the internal rubber torsion system reduces the harsh shock and vibration normally transferred through a rigid hitch connection.
A conventional rigid hitch transfers bumps, potholes, corrugations and sudden trailer movement directly between the trailer and tow vehicle. The Gen-Y Torsion-Flex Hitch uses heavy-duty rubber torsion cords within the hitch body to absorb and dampen much of this impact energy.
By allowing the tow vehicle and trailer to react more independently, the hitch provides a smoother and more controlled towing experience while reducing the vibration and abrupt loading transmitted through the towing combination.
The supplied Gen-Y Versa-Ball incorporates both a 50mm tow ball and a 70mm tow ball within one interchangeable attachment. The ball mount can be rotated to place the required ball size in the towing position, allowing quick changeover between compatible trailers without replacing the complete ball mount.
This dual-ball arrangement is particularly useful for owners, workshops, farms and commercial operators who tow several trailers with different coupling sizes.
The 7.5" drop hitch body provides five selectable ball-height positions, offering greater adjustment than the shorter 5" model. The Versa-Ball mount can be repositioned using the supplied hitch pins, making it easier to accommodate trailers with different drawbar heights.
Maintaining a level trailer helps promote predictable handling, effective braking and more even weight distribution while reducing unnecessary strain on the tow vehicle and trailer suspension.
A mechanical tongue weight scale is incorporated into the hitch body, providing a convenient visual guide when setting up and balancing the trailer load. Maintaining an appropriate tongue weight is an important part of stable and predictable towing performance.
The hitch is fabricated from heavy-duty steel with precision-machined components and two 1" Grade 8 pivot bolts. It is engineered for regular use in demanding recreational, agricultural and commercial towing environments.
The enclosed rubber torsion system contains no airbags requiring pressure adjustment and no conventional bearings requiring routine servicing.
Inspect the hitch, Versa-Ball, pivot bolts and retaining pins regularly for wear, damage or excessive movement. Keep the mounting points clean and replace any worn or damaged component before towing.
Important: Always confirm that the tow vehicle, receiver, selected tow ball, trailer coupling and all other towing components are appropriately rated for the intended load. The safe towing capacity of the complete combination is determined by its lowest-rated component.
