The Gen-Y 5" Drop 7000kg Torsion-Flex Hitch with Versa-Ball and Pintle Lock is a premium heavy-duty towing solution designed for operators who require maximum versatility, strength and towing comfort. Combining Gen-Y's patented Torsion-Flex suspension technology with an interchangeable 50mm/70mm Versa-Ball and an integrated Pintle Lock, this hitch is equally at home towing standard ball-coupled trailers or equipment fitted with lunette ring couplings.
Rated to tow up to 7,000kg with a maximum 900kg tongue weight, this hitch is built for demanding commercial, agricultural, mining, military and off-road applications. The 5" drop provides four adjustable height positions, allowing the trailer to be levelled correctly while the Torsion-Flex system dramatically reduces shock loads transferred between the tow vehicle and trailer.
Unlike conventional rigid hitches that transfer every bump directly into the tow vehicle and trailer, the Gen-Y Torsion-Flex Hitch incorporates heavy-duty rubber torsion cords within the hitch body. These absorb and dampen vertical shock loads, producing a noticeably smoother towing experience over sealed roads, corrugations and uneven terrain.
By allowing the tow vehicle and trailer to react more independently, the system helps maintain better control while reducing vibration throughout the towing combination.
The included Versa-Ball combines both 50mm and 70mm tow balls into a single interchangeable assembly. Simply rotate the ball mount to the required size, allowing one hitch to accommodate multiple trailers without swapping ball mounts.
The supplied Pintle Lock converts the Versa-Ball into a pintle hitch suitable for compatible lunette ring couplings. This provides excellent articulation and secure engagement, making it ideal for heavy equipment trailers, military applications, agricultural machinery, mining equipment and off-road trailers operating in demanding conditions.
Having both ball and pintle capability in one hitch provides outstanding versatility for operators who regularly tow a variety of trailer types.
The four-position adjustable hitch body allows the coupling height to be matched to different trailers. Keeping a trailer level improves weight distribution, braking performance and towing stability while reducing unnecessary stress on both the tow vehicle and trailer.
Manufactured from heavy-duty fabricated steel with precision-machined components and Grade 8 hardware, this hitch is engineered to withstand demanding towing environments. The enclosed Torsion-Flex system requires virtually no routine maintenance and contains no airbags or bearings requiring adjustment or replacement.
The Torsion-Flex Hitch is designed to require minimal maintenance. There are no airbags to inflate or bearings requiring servicing. During the first few hundred kilometres of towing with an appropriate trailer load, the internal rubber torsion elements naturally settle into their intended operating characteristics.
Important: Always ensure the tow vehicle, receiver, trailer coupling and every component of the towing system are correctly rated for the intended load. The maximum towing capacity of the complete towing combination is determined by the lowest-rated component.
