The Gen-Y 5" Drop 4500kg Torsion-Flex Hitch with Australian Tongue combines Gen-Y's patented Torsion-Flex suspension technology with a genuine Australian Tongue, creating a premium towing solution for trailers fitted with Cruisemaster DO45 articulating couplings. Designed and manufactured in the USA, this adjustable hitch delivers exceptional towing comfort, improved stability and outstanding control across both sealed roads and challenging off-road terrain.
Rated to tow up to 4,500kg with a maximum 500kg tongue weight, this hitch is ideal for off-road caravans, camper trailers, horse floats, expedition trailers and heavy-duty commercial applications. The adjustable 5" drop design allows the hitch height to be matched to different trailers while the Torsion-Flex suspension dramatically reduces the shock loads transferred between the tow vehicle and trailer.
Unlike conventional rigid hitches that transfer every bump, pothole and corrugation directly through the towing combination, the Gen-Y Torsion-Flex Hitch uses heavy-duty rubber torsion cords housed within the hitch body to absorb much of this impact energy before it reaches the tow vehicle or trailer.
The result is a significantly smoother towing experience with reduced vibration, improved control and less shock being transmitted into the trailer, its contents and the tow vehicle.
This hitch is supplied with a genuine Gen-Y Australian Tongue designed specifically for use with Cruisemaster DO45 articulating couplings. It provides a purpose-built mounting point for Australian off-road trailers while retaining the flexibility of the Gen-Y interchangeable hitch platform.
The tongue features multiple mounting positions, allowing the coupling to be positioned closer to or further from the tow vehicle to suit different trailer and vehicle combinations.
The four-position adjustable hitch body makes it easy to set the correct coupling height for different trailers. Keeping a trailer level helps improve towing stability, braking performance and weight distribution while reducing unnecessary stress on both the trailer and tow vehicle.
Manufactured from heavy-duty fabricated steel with precision-machined components and Grade 8 pivot bolts, the Gen-Y Torsion-Flex Hitch is built to withstand demanding recreational and commercial towing environments. The design requires no airbags, no bearings and virtually no routine maintenance.
The Torsion-Flex Hitch is designed to be virtually maintenance free. There are no airbags requiring adjustment and no bearings requiring regular servicing. The rubber torsion system naturally settles into its operating range after initial use with an appropriate trailer load.
Important: Always ensure the tow vehicle, receiver, trailer coupling and every component of the towing system are correctly rated for the intended load. The maximum towing capacity of the complete towing combination is determined by the lowest-rated component.
