The Gen-Y 5" Drop 4500kg Hitch with Australian Tongue is a premium heavy-duty adjustable hitch designed specifically for Australian towing applications. Supplied with a genuine Gen-Y Australian Tongue for Cruisemaster DO45 couplings, this hitch provides exceptional strength, versatility and ease of adjustment for off-road caravans, camper trailers and heavy-duty trailers.
Rated to tow up to 4,500kg with a maximum 600kg tongue weight, the adjustable 5" drop allows you to quickly level different trailers for improved stability, braking performance and weight distribution. Manufactured in the USA from heavy-duty fabricated steel, the Mega-Duty Hitch is built to handle demanding recreational, agricultural and commercial towing applications.
The supplied Australian Tongue has been specifically designed for Australian towing requirements and is intended for use with Cruisemaster DO45 articulating couplings. Its interchangeable design allows the coupling position to be adjusted closer to or further from the tow vehicle, helping achieve the ideal trailer setup for different applications.
As part of the Gen-Y interchangeable hitch system, the Australian Tongue can also be swapped for other compatible Gen-Y accessories should your towing requirements change in the future.
The 5" drop provides three selectable mounting positions, allowing the coupling height to be adjusted for different trailer drawbar heights. A level trailer promotes better handling, improved braking performance and more even weight distribution while reducing unnecessary stress on the tow vehicle and trailer.
Built from heavy-duty fabricated steel, the Gen-Y Mega-Duty Hitch is engineered to withstand the demands of regular towing in harsh environments. Precision-machined components and a durable powder-coated finish provide long-lasting reliability whether used for recreational, commercial or agricultural applications.
The Mega-Duty Hitch is designed to be easy to adjust and simple to operate. Changing the hitch height only requires removing the retaining pins, repositioning the Australian Tongue and reinstalling the pins, making it quick to adapt to different trailers.
Inspect the hitch, Australian Tongue, retaining pins and mounting hardware regularly for wear or damage. Keep the hitch clean and ensure all fasteners remain correctly tightened. Replace any worn or damaged components before towing.
Important: Always ensure the tow vehicle, receiver, trailer coupling and every component of the towing system are correctly rated for the intended load. The maximum towing capacity of the complete towing combination is determined by the lowest-rated component.
