The Gen-Y 10" Drop 7000kg Torsion-Flex Hitch with 50mm/70mm Versa-Ball & Pintle is a premium heavy-duty towing system engineered for maximum towing performance, stability and versatility. Manufactured in the USA, this adjustable hitch combines Gen-Y's patented Torsion-Flex suspension technology with both a dual-size Versa-Ball and a Pintle Lock, allowing a single hitch system to tow conventional ball-coupled trailers as well as lunette ring trailers.
Rated for towing up to 7,000kg with a maximum 900kg tongue weight, this hitch is designed for demanding commercial, agricultural, mining, military, heavy caravan and expedition applications where both towing comfort and coupling versatility are essential.
Unlike a conventional rigid hitch that transfers every bump, pothole and expansion joint directly between the trailer and tow vehicle, the Gen-Y Torsion-Flex Hitch incorporates heavy-duty rubber torsion cords that absorb much of the impact energy before it reaches either vehicle.
According to Gen-Y, only around 10% of trailer inertia is transferred through the hitch, compared with a conventional rigid hitch where virtually all trailer shock loads are transferred directly into the tow vehicle. This helps produce a smoother towing experience while improving overall vehicle control.
Heavy trailers generate substantial dynamic loads whenever they encounter rough roads or uneven terrain. Conventional rigid hitches transfer these impacts directly into both the trailer and tow vehicle, increasing vibration and shock loading throughout the towing combination.
The Gen-Y Torsion-Flex system is designed to absorb much of this energy before it reaches either vehicle, improving towing comfort while reducing the harsh impacts experienced during normal towing.
The supplied Versa-Ball provides both 50mm and 70mm tow ball sizes in one assembly, allowing the hitch to accommodate different trailers without changing ball mounts.
This package also includes the genuine Gen-Y Pintle Lock, allowing the hitch to tow trailers fitted with lunette ring couplings. The pintle lock mounts directly to the Versa-Ball assembly, providing additional towing versatility for commercial and heavy-duty applications.
The Torsion-Flex Hitch is designed to be virtually maintenance free. There are no airbags requiring pressure adjustment and no bearings requiring routine servicing or replacement.
Important: Never exceed the towing, tongue weight or receiver ratings specified by the vehicle manufacturer, trailer manufacturer or coupling manufacturer. The maximum permissible towing capacity is always limited by the lowest-rated component in the complete towing system.
