Towing Capacity & Compliance Notes

  • Actual towing capacity depends on the host vehicle GVM, towball, tongue, trailer setup and compliance requirements.
  • Under NHVR Vehicle Standards Guide VSG-16, towing capacity can vary depending on vehicle GVM and towing equipment configuration.
  • When using a 50mm ball, the allowable towing capacity may be lower than the maximum towbar rating depending on the vehicle GVM.
  • If the vehicle is over 4495kg GVM, this towbar will require vehicle compliance at an additional cost.
  • Final suitability must be confirmed against the vehicle, GVM, intended towing setup and compliance requirements.

Important: The 4500kg towbar rating does not automatically mean every vehicle can tow 4500kg. Actual towing capacity depends on the vehicle GVM, towball and tongue rating, trailer configuration, compliance requirements and final vehicle setup.
