Correct front-end wheel alignment is essential for getting the best handling, steering performance and tyre life from your Mitsubishi Fuso Canter FGB71. Whether your truck has received a suspension upgrade, larger tyres, a Super Single Wheel (SSW) conversion or simply accumulated thousands of kilometres of use, proper alignment ensures every steering and suspension component works together as intended.

At AAV4x4, we carry out a complete front-end alignment specifically for the Fuso Canter FGB71. Unlike passenger vehicles with independent suspension, the FGB71 uses a heavy-duty solid front axle where camber and caster adjustments are achieved by fitting precision alignment shims between the steering knuckle (swivel housing) and axle assembly. Toe is then accurately adjusted to suit the completed alignment.

Our technicians understand the unique alignment requirements of modified Fuso 4x4 trucks and will correctly set the steering geometry to suit your vehicle's suspension, tyre size, load and intended use.

What's Included

  • Professional front wheel alignment by experienced AAV4x4 technicians
  • Inspection of the existing front suspension geometry
  • Front toe adjustment
  • Left-hand and right-hand camber shim selection and installation as required
  • Caster geometry checked during the alignment process
  • Inspection of steering and suspension components during adjustment
  • Final verification of all alignment settings before completion

How AAV4x4 Performs the Alignment

Every alignment begins by measuring the existing steering geometry to determine what corrections are required. Where camber adjustment is necessary, our technicians remove the steering knuckle assemblies and install precision alignment shims to achieve the desired geometry.

Once camber has been corrected, the steering tie rod is adjusted to accurately set the toe. Because camber changes directly influence toe, every alignment is completed in the correct sequence before final measurements are verified.

The finished alignment is then checked to ensure the vehicle tracks correctly, the steering responds consistently, and all fasteners are tightened to the appropriate specifications.

Alignment Settings

Every Fuso Canter is slightly different depending on its suspension specification, wheel and tyre combination, ride height, vehicle loading and intended use. Rather than applying generic alignment figures, AAV4x4 selects the most appropriate alignment settings for your individual vehicle to achieve the best balance of handling, steering feel, tyre life and stability.

Why Correct Alignment Matters

  • Maximises tyre life and reduces uneven tyre wear
  • Improves straight-line stability on highways
  • Produces more predictable steering response
  • Helps the vehicle track correctly after suspension or wheel upgrades
  • Reduces steering correction and driver fatigue on long-distance touring
  • Improves handling both on and off road
  • Ensures suspension modifications perform as intended

Risks of Incorrect Alignment

Poor wheel alignment is one of the most common causes of premature tyre wear, particularly after fitting larger tyres, suspension upgrades or Super Single Wheel conversions. Even relatively small misalignment can quickly become expensive on heavy vehicles.

Operating with incorrect alignment may result in:

  • Rapid or uneven tyre wear
  • Feathering or scrubbing across the tyre tread
  • Vehicle wandering or pulling to one side
  • Poor steering return-to-centre
  • Reduced steering precision
  • Increased driver fatigue during long-distance touring
  • Reduced tyre life and increased operating costs

Ideal For

  • Suspension upgrades
  • Super Single Wheel (SSW) conversions
  • Larger tyre installations
  • Replacement steering or suspension components
  • Vehicles experiencing uneven tyre wear or steering pull
  • Routine preventative maintenance following suspension modifications

Whether your FG series Fuso Canter is used for remote-area touring, expedition travel or commercial applications, a professionally completed front wheel alignment helps protect your investment by improving handling, extending tyre life and ensuring your suspension performs exactly as intended.
