This ELocker is a premium selectable front differential locker designed specifically for the Isuzu NPS250 and NPS300 (2009 onwards). It provides maximum traction exactly when you need it while retaining the smooth handling and steering characteristics of a standard open differential during normal driving.

When driving on sealed roads or firm tracks, the differential operates just like the factory unit, allowing the front wheels to rotate at different speeds for predictable handling and reduced tyre wear. When conditions become challenging, simply press the supplied dash-mounted switch to engage the locker. The differential instantly locks both front axles together, delivering equal drive to each front wheel for maximum available traction.

Unlike air-operated differential lockers, the Harrop ELocker uses a proven electromagnetic locking mechanism. There are no air compressors, air lines or pneumatic fittings to install or maintain, making it a simple, reliable and low-maintenance solution for serious off-road touring and commercial applications.

Vehicle Compatibility

  • Isuzu NPS250 (2009 onwards)
  • Isuzu NPS300 (2009 onwards)
  • Front differential

How the ELocker Works

Under normal conditions, the ELocker functions as a conventional open differential. This allows the left and right front wheels to rotate at different speeds while cornering, providing normal steering feel and drivability.

When additional traction is required, the dash-mounted switch activates an electromagnetic locking mechanism inside the differential. The differential then becomes fully locked, ensuring both front wheels receive equal drive regardless of which wheel has traction.

Once the obstacle has been cleared, simply switch the locker off and the differential immediately returns to normal open operation.

Key Features

  • 100% selectable front differential locker.
  • Powered by proven Eaton locking differential technology.
  • Designed and manufactured by Harrop Engineering.
  • Electromagnetic engagement system.
  • No air compressor required.
  • No air lines or pneumatic components.
  • Dash-mounted activation switch.
  • Maintains normal open differential operation until engaged.
  • Simple electrical operation with minimal maintenance.
  • Designed for harsh Australian off-road conditions.

Benefits

  • Provides maximum available traction when driving off-road.
  • Reduces wheel spin on loose or uneven terrain.
  • Improves climbing ability on rocky and steep tracks.
  • Helps maintain forward momentum through mud, sand and rutted tracks.
  • Returns to normal road driving characteristics with the switch turned off.
  • No compressor servicing or air leaks to worry about.

Operating Recommendations

  • Engage the locker only when additional traction is required.
  • For smooth engagement, both front wheels should be rotating at approximately the same speed or be stationary.
  • Disengage the locker once normal driving conditions return.
  • Following these guidelines helps ensure smooth operation and long service life.

Electrical Requirements

This ELocker operates on a 12V electrical system. As the Isuzu NPS uses a 24V vehicle electrical system, a suitable 24V-to-12V converter is required to power the locker and switching system.

What's Included

  • Front ELocker differential assembly.
  • Wiring harness.
  • Dash-mounted activation switch.
  • Installation hardware.
  • Installation instructions.

Professional Installation

Installation requires differential disassembly and precise setup of bearing preload, backlash and gear tooth contact patterns. For this reason, professional installation by an experienced differential specialist is strongly recommended.
