20,000lb Rear Recovery Winch

The installed winch carries a rated pulling capacity of 20,000lb, equivalent to approximately 9.1 tonnes of single-line pull.

This capacity is suited to the substantially greater vehicle mass associated with a completed GX truck-based motorhome compared with a conventional passenger 4WD.

25m x 12mm Synthetic Rope

The current winch is supplied with 25 metres of 12mm synthetic recovery rope.

This current configuration replaces the older 21m wording previously used in the GX product title.

GX-Specific Rear Winch Cradle

A dedicated GX-only rear winch cradle forms part of the current package.

This provides the vehicle-specific mounting structure for the rear recovery winch rather than treating the winch as a universal loose installation.

Automatic Brake & Thermal Protection

The winch incorporates an automatic load-holding brake to help control the drum while the winch is holding a load.

Thermal overload protection is also incorporated to help protect the winch during demanding high-load operation.

Heavy-Current Electrical Installation

A winch of this capacity requires a substantial electrical supply.

The current GX installation includes approximately 7 metres each of 0 B&S positive and negative battery cable, together with dedicated high-current distribution hardware.

The installed circuit incorporates a 500A MEGA fuse and covered high-current fuse holder.

Professional AAV4x4 Installation

This is a fully fitted rear-winch package installed by AAV4x4.

Installation includes securing the GX-specific rear cradle, mounting the winch, completing the high-current positive and negative cabling, installing fuse protection and distribution hardware, checking cable routing and completing an operational test.

Safe recovery practice, correctly rated recovery equipment and suitable recovery points remain essential whenever a vehicle winch is used.
