The GME XRS-375C4P combines a heavy-duty 5-watt UHF CB radio with a professional-grade controller microphone and a 580mm black radome antenna, providing a complete communications package for four-wheel drives, trucks, motorhomes, touring vehicles and machinery.
The XRS-375C uses a compact metal chassis with a secondary speaker built into the base unit. The main controls, colour display and an additional powerful speaker are incorporated into the hand-held controller microphone, allowing the radio body to be installed discreetly within the vehicle.
Bluetooth audio and data connectivity, built-in GPS, noise-reduction technology and compatibility with the XRS Connect smartphone application provide access to a broad range of connected radio functions.
The included AE4704B antenna features a black fibreglass radome, heavy-duty spring base, ground-independent design and interchangeable 2.1dBi whip. This product is supplied unfitted.
The XRS-375C is built around a compact metal radio chassis suitable for concealed installation inside the vehicle cabin.
A secondary speaker is incorporated into the radio body, supplementing the speaker inside the controller microphone. This dual-speaker arrangement is particularly useful in trucks, four-wheel drives and machinery where engine, road and equipment noise may make incoming radio transmissions more difficult to hear.
The supplied MC670B controller microphone places the radio’s display, speaker and primary controls in the operator’s hand.
Its high-contrast anti-glare colour TFT screen displays channel and operating information clearly, while the integrated 3-watt speaker provides strong audio output inside noisy vehicle cabins.
The microphone carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating, providing protection against dust and water within the limits of the rating.
The radio provides up to 5 watts of UHF CB transmission power for vehicle-to-vehicle communication during touring, convoy travel, off-road driving, commercial work and remote-area operation.
Actual communication range varies according to terrain, antenna installation, surrounding structures, atmospheric conditions and the equipment used by the other station.
Integrated noise-reduction processing helps improve transmitted voice clarity by reducing unwanted background sound picked up by the microphone.
This is particularly useful in diesel trucks and other vehicles where engine, airflow, road and equipment noise may otherwise make speech more difficult to understand.
Bluetooth connectivity allows compatible audio and data communication between the radio and supported devices.
This connectivity also supports the XRS Connect smartphone application, providing access to compatible radio settings, connected functions and firmware updates.
The XRS-375C includes an integrated GPS receiver for supported location-aware XRS Connect functions.
This allows compatible location services to operate without relying solely on the connected smartphone to provide GPS position data.
The XRS Connect smartphone application provides access to compatible connected-radio functions, configuration options and software updates.
Supported XRS Connect features include:
Voice Playback allows recent received transmissions to be replayed through the radio. This can be useful when a message is missed because of cabin noise, interruption or poor timing.
Active Mute allows the radio to interact with compatible vehicle audio equipment so incoming UHF communication can be heard more clearly.
Operation depends on the radio configuration and the vehicle audio system with which it is integrated.
CrewTalk provides supported short-range communication between compatible XRS Connect users without occupying the main UHF CB channel being monitored by the radio.
ScanSuite digital scanning technology provides flexible monitoring of selected channels and programmed scanning groups.
This allows the radio to monitor multiple relevant channels rather than remaining fixed on one channel at all times.
The automatic power-down function can switch the radio off after the vehicle has been inactive, helping reduce unnecessary load on the vehicle battery if the radio is accidentally left operating.
The XRS-375C supports compatible 12V and 24V vehicle power systems, making the package suitable for a wide range of four-wheel drives, trucks, motorhomes, agricultural machinery and commercial vehicles.
The supplied power lead must be correctly connected and protected to suit the individual vehicle installation.
The radio system has been tested against MIL-STD-810H requirements covering vibration, shock, temperature and humidity.
This supports its use in demanding touring, commercial and machinery applications where the equipment may be exposed to ongoing vibration and changing environmental conditions.
The included AE4704B is a 580mm black heavy-duty UHF CB antenna with a rated gain of 2.1dBi.
Its relatively short, lower-gain configuration produces a broad radiation pattern suited to changing terrain, including mountainous areas, winding tracks, built-up locations and off-road touring.
The antenna element is protected inside a black fibreglass radome. This provides a robust exterior suited to bull-bar, bracket and other external vehicle installations.
A heavy-duty spring base allows controlled movement when the antenna is exposed to vibration, rough roads, branches and other normal operating conditions.
The spring helps reduce the movement and impact transferred directly into the antenna whip and mounting point.
The antenna uses a ground-independent design and does not rely on a large conductive vehicle-body ground plane for normal operation.
This makes it suitable for installation on compatible bull bars, brackets and other mounting locations where limited ground-plane area is available.
The AE4704B uses an interchangeable whip system. The supplied 2.1dBi whip can be removed from the spring base and replaced with another compatible whip where different operating characteristics are required.
Shorter, lower-gain whips are generally suited to changing or mountainous terrain, while compatible longer, higher-gain whips may be preferred for open and relatively flat country. Alternative whips are sold separately.
The antenna includes a 4.5m lead assembly with a pre-terminated FME connector and an FME-to-PL259 adaptor.
The compact FME connector assists with routing the coaxial cable through the vehicle before the larger radio-side adaptor is installed.
