The Gen-Y Serrated Hitch Step is a heavy-duty receiver-mounted step designed to provide secure footing when accessing ute trays, canopies, roof racks and cargo areas. Featuring a deep serrated anti-slip surface and integrated boot scraper, it delivers confident footing in wet, muddy and dusty conditions while remaining installed in your vehicle's standard 2" receiver hitch.
Rated to support up to 500lb (226kg), the hitch step is engineered for everyday use on touring vehicles, work utes, trucks and commercial fleets. Its clever design allows it to remain functional even while towing many trailers, making it a practical accessory for both work and recreational vehicles.
The aggressive serrated tread provides excellent grip for work boots, hiking boots and wet footwear, helping reduce the risk of slipping when climbing into the rear of the vehicle. The open serrated design also sheds mud, water and debris more effectively than smooth step surfaces.
The front edge of the hitch step doubles as a convenient boot scraper, making it easy to remove mud, clay and loose debris before entering the vehicle or camper. This simple feature helps keep vehicle interiors cleaner during work and off-road travel.
The hitch step provides a stable platform for accessing roof racks, rooftop tents, canopies, trays and cargo areas without permanently mounting steps to the vehicle. Its receiver-mounted design allows it to be installed or removed in minutes using a standard hitch pin.
Unlike many receiver steps, the compact profile is designed so it can often remain in place while towing, providing convenient rear access without constantly removing and reinstalling the step.
Manufactured from heavy-duty steel, the Gen-Y Serrated Hitch Step is built to withstand demanding recreational, commercial and agricultural use. The zinc primer and epoxy powder-coated finish provide long-lasting corrosion resistance and durability in harsh Australian conditions.
Inspect the hitch step, receiver shank, hitch pin and retaining clip regularly for signs of wear, corrosion or damage. Keep the serrated surface free from excessive mud and debris to maintain maximum grip, and touch up any damaged coating to help protect against corrosion.
Important: Ensure the hitch step is correctly secured with an appropriate hitch pin and retaining clip before use. Never exceed the maximum 500lb (226kg) capacity and always confirm the vehicle's receiver hitch is suitable for the intended application.
