Fuso FGB71 Single Cab / Dual Cab Kinetic Subframe with 200L + 230L Diesel Tanks – Fitted

The AAV4x4 Fuso FGB71 Kinetic Subframe with Dual Diesel Tanks is a complete long-range touring package designed for Fuso Canter FGB71 Single Cab and Dual Cab vehicles.

Combining AAV4x4's kinetic subframe system with a 200L diesel tank and 230L diesel tank, the package provides approximately 430 litres of additional on-board diesel capacity while creating a strong, flexible foundation for a tray, canopy or expedition body.

The complete system is professionally installed by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop and includes the kinetic subframe, both diesel tanks, transfer system, in-cab fuel-level monitoring, braided electrical loom, stainless steel tank retention hardware, plumbing and associated fittings.

AAV4x4 Kinetic Subframe System

The Fuso FGB71 chassis is designed to flex as the truck travels across uneven terrain. A rigid tray, canopy or motorhome body mounted directly across the chassis can resist this natural movement and transfer torsional loads into the body structure.

The AAV4x4 kinetic subframe is designed to allow controlled movement between the Fuso chassis and the body mounted above it.

Kinetic spring assemblies accommodate chassis movement while providing a stable structural foundation for the tray or canopy. This helps reduce the transfer of chassis twist into the body structure during rough-road and off-road operation.

The system is particularly suited to expedition vehicles, motorhomes and touring trucks that regularly operate on corrugated roads, uneven tracks and cross-axle terrain.

430L Combined Auxiliary Diesel Capacity

The package incorporates two dedicated diesel tanks:

  • 1 x 200L diesel tank
  • 1 x 230L diesel tank

Together, the two tanks provide approximately 430 litres of auxiliary diesel storage, substantially increasing the amount of fuel that can be carried aboard an appropriately configured FGB71.

This is particularly valuable for vehicles intended for remote-area touring where fuel availability may be limited and considerable distances can separate reliable refuelling locations.

Low-Mounted Tank Installation

The diesel tanks are incorporated low within the kinetic subframe package rather than unnecessarily consuming tray or canopy storage space.

Positioning the fuel tanks within the available chassis and subframe area makes efficient use of the vehicle package and helps keep substantial fuel mass positioned low on the truck.

Baffled Poly Diesel Tanks

Both auxiliary diesel tanks use poly construction with internal baffling.

Internal baffling helps control fuel movement within the tanks as the vehicle accelerates, brakes, corners or travels across uneven terrain.

Twin Diesel Transfer System

Rather than requiring the engine to draw directly from multiple tanks, the package incorporates a dedicated diesel transfer arrangement to move fuel from the auxiliary tanks into the vehicle's main fuel tank.

The system uses a 5L/min transfer pump, allowing stored auxiliary fuel to be transferred when required during travel.

15-Minute Safety Timer

The fuel transfer system incorporates a 15-minute safety timer.

This limits continuous transfer-pump operation rather than allowing the pump to remain energised indefinitely if it is accidentally left switched on.

Main Tank Overfill Protection

The transfer arrangement also incorporates main-tank overfill protection as part of the completed AAV4x4 installation.

This provides additional control when transferring diesel from either auxiliary tank into the Fuso's main fuel system.

Single In-Cab Fuel Gauge

Both auxiliary tanks can be monitored using a single analogue fuel gauge installed in the cab.

A dash-mounted selector switch allows the driver to choose which auxiliary tank is displayed, providing individual tank-level monitoring without requiring two separate gauges to occupy dashboard space.

This creates a simple and practical interface for monitoring the 200L and 230L tanks independently.

Braided Electrical Loom

The package includes a dedicated braided wiring loom for the auxiliary fuel system.

Water-resistant Deutsch connectors are used throughout the applicable loom connections to provide a secure and serviceable electrical installation suited to touring and off-road vehicle use.

Stainless Steel Tank Retention Hardware

The installation incorporates stainless steel tank straps together with the required brackets, plumbing and fittings for the dual-tank system.

The tanks are securely integrated into the kinetic subframe package as part of the completed vehicle installation.

Galvanised & Powder-Coated Subframe

The kinetic subframe is fully galvanised and powder coated, providing a durable finished structure suited to the demanding environment underneath a touring or expedition truck.

The completed subframe provides the structural foundation for the selected tray, canopy or body while incorporating the auxiliary fuel system into the overall vehicle package.

Standardised Single Cab & Dual Cab Frames

The kinetic subframe is produced in standardised lengths for the two FGB71 cab configurations:

  • Single Cab: approximately 4160mm frame length
  • Dual Cab: approximately 3300mm frame length

These are standard production configurations rather than individually custom-sized subframes.

Tray & Canopy Integration

The kinetic subframe is designed to provide a mounting foundation for compatible trays, canopies and expedition bodies.

Mounting provisions are incorporated into the subframe to simplify integration with the selected body system.

The package can be incorporated with AAV4x4 vehicle builds or used in conjunction with a suitable tray or canopy supplied by another builder.

Temporary Fuel Filler Arrangement

Where AAV4x4 is not supplying the final tray or canopy, the required fuel piping and lockable fillers can be temporarily mounted for transport.

This allows the completed auxiliary fuel system to leave the AAV4x4 workshop before the final tray or body installation, with the filler arrangement subsequently incorporated into the completed body configuration.

Spare Wheel Relocation Required

The dual auxiliary diesel tank package makes use of chassis space that would otherwise be available for the original spare-wheel position.

As a result, the spare wheel must be relocated when this package is installed.

The final spare-wheel location should be considered as part of the overall tray, canopy or expedition-body design.

Designed for Long-Range Touring

The combination of additional fuel capacity and a kinetic body-mounting system makes this package particularly suited to FGB71 vehicles being built for extended travel.

Typical applications include:

  • Fuso FGB71 expedition trucks
  • Truck-based motorhomes
  • Remote-area touring vehicles
  • Long-distance overland builds
  • Commercial and service vehicles
  • Rural and remote work trucks
  • Tray and canopy touring builds

Important Notes

This package is supplied professionally fitted by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.

The kinetic subframe is produced in standardised Single Cab and Dual Cab configurations. Custom subframe lengths are not included in this package.

Installation of the dual diesel tanks occupies space associated with the original spare-wheel position, so spare-wheel relocation is required.

Where AAV4x4 is not supplying the final tray or canopy, fuel piping and lockable filler points may be temporarily positioned for vehicle transport until they can be incorporated into the final body installation.

Tray, canopy, motorhome body and spare-wheel carrier are not included unless separately specified.
