The Gen-Y 7.5" Drop 7000kg Hitch with 50mm Tow Ball is a heavy-duty adjustable towing solution designed for operators who need strength, flexibility and straightforward adjustment. Supplied with a 50mm tow ball, it is suitable for compatible caravans, horse floats, boat trailers, machinery trailers and other demanding recreational or commercial towing applications.

Rated for towing loads up to 7,000kg with a maximum 900kg tongue weight, the 7.5" drop hitch body provides four adjustable positions. This allows the tow ball height to be matched to different trailer drawbars, helping keep the trailer level for improved stability, braking behaviour and weight distribution.

  • Maximum towing capacity: 7,000kg
  • Maximum tongue weight: 900kg
  • 7.5" drop configuration
  • Four adjustable height positions
  • Class V 2" receiver shank
  • Supplied with a 50mm tow ball
  • Designed and tested for use in either the drop or rise position
  • Heavy-duty fabricated steel construction
  • Simple pin-adjustable design
  • Compatible with interchangeable Gen-Y hitch attachments
  • Made in the USA

Adjustable for Different Trailer Heights

The ball mount can be moved between four positions within the hitch body, allowing the towing height to be adjusted without replacing the complete hitch. This is particularly useful for vehicles that tow several trailers with different drawbar and coupling heights.

Correctly levelling the trailer helps promote more predictable handling, effective braking and balanced loading across the towing combination.

Heavy-Duty 50mm Tow Ball

This model is supplied with a 50mm tow ball for use with compatible 50mm trailer couplings. The interchangeable attachment can be repositioned quickly by removing the retaining pin, selecting the required height and reinstalling the pin.

The modular Gen-Y platform also allows the supplied ball mount to be replaced with other compatible attachments should your towing requirements change.

Drop or Rise Configuration

The hitch is designed and tested for use in either a drop or rise orientation. This provides additional flexibility for vehicles with receivers positioned above or below the required trailer coupling height.

Always confirm that the selected configuration provides adequate clearance between the hitch, tow vehicle, trailer drawbar and surrounding components throughout the full range of vehicle and trailer movement.

Built for Heavy-Duty Towing

Fabricated from heavy-duty steel, the Gen-Y Mega Duty Hitch is designed for demanding towing environments. Its robust construction and uncomplicated mechanical design make it well suited to regular recreational, agricultural and commercial use.

Maintenance

Inspect the hitch, tow ball, retaining pins and receiver connection regularly for wear, damage or excessive movement. Keep the adjustment points clean and ensure all pins and retaining clips are correctly installed before towing. Replace any worn or damaged component before use.

Important: Always confirm that the tow vehicle, receiver, 50mm tow ball, trailer coupling and all other towing components are correctly rated for the intended load. The permitted towing capacity of the complete combination is determined by its lowest-rated component.
