The AAV4x4 Alloy Scrub Bar & Roof Pod System is a purpose-built touring and work-vehicle upgrade for the Isuzu NPS 75 / 300 Single Cab from 2008 onwards.
Combining an alloy cab scrub-bar structure with a functional roof pod, flat rack platform and integrated wind deflector, the system adds useful roof-mounted carrying space while providing additional protection around the cab.
The roof platform measures approximately 1850mm long x 1000mm wide and is rated for a 75kg static load, providing a practical mounting area for suitable lightweight touring and work equipment.
This product is supplied as a professionally fitted package and is installed by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.
Rather than treating the roof rack and cab protection as separate accessories, this system combines them into one integrated structure designed around the dimensions of the Isuzu NPS Single Cab.
Heavy-duty alloy scrub bars extend around the cab area and support the roof-pod structure above, creating a purposeful setup for vehicles used in remote touring, field service, commercial work and off-road environments.
The roof pod incorporates a flat platform measuring approximately:
The flat design provides a versatile mounting surface for compatible equipment while keeping the layout simple and easy to configure.
Roof space can be particularly valuable on an NPS used for touring or field work, where internal tray and canopy storage may already be allocated to fuel, water, tools and other equipment.
Subject to the platform load rating and secure mounting, the rack can provide a suitable location for items such as:
The roof platform is rated for a maximum 75kg static load.
Equipment carried on the roof should be securely restrained and positioned appropriately across the platform. Vehicle roof loads should always be considered as part of the complete vehicle weight and centre-of-gravity setup.
Tie-down rails and accessory mounting provisions are incorporated into the rack to provide practical securing points for compatible equipment.
These provisions make the platform easier to configure for touring and work applications without relying solely on temporary or improvised attachment points.
A front wind deflector is incorporated into the roof-pod design to help manage airflow around the leading edge of the rack.
The deflector provides a smoother transition for air approaching the roof structure and helps reduce unnecessary airflow disturbance around the front of the rack.
The front upper section of the roof pod is designed to accommodate one compatible full-width light bar.
Positioning auxiliary lighting high on the vehicle can provide a useful mounting location for forward illumination on touring, field-service and off-road vehicles.
A light bar is not included unless separately specified.
Wiring access provisions are incorporated into the roof-pod design to simplify routing of suitable electrical cabling for accessories such as the optional light bar.
This helps achieve a cleaner finished installation than running exposed wiring externally across the rack structure.
The scrub-bar and roof-pod system uses alloy construction, providing the strength required for the application while controlling unnecessary weight high on the vehicle.
This is particularly important on truck-based touring vehicles where every accessory contributes to overall vehicle mass and load distribution.
The completed assembly is powder coated to provide a durable finished surface suited to touring, commercial and off-road environments.
The finish also gives the scrub-bar and roof-pod structure a clean, integrated appearance as part of the completed NPS build.
The system is designed specifically for the NPS Single Cab rather than being a generic universal roof rack.
Its shape follows the cab profile and positions the roof platform, wind deflector and protective side structure around the vehicle as one integrated installation.
The combination of cab protection, additional carrying space and accessory mounting makes this system particularly useful for:
