This professionally fitted UHF communication package combines the GME XRS-375C heavy-duty compact UHF CB radio with a professional-grade controller microphone, a 580mm heavy-duty bull-bar antenna and a Type 6 illuminated RJ45 pass-through adaptor.
The compact radio body is installed discreetly within the vehicle cabin, while the controller microphone provides access to the radio’s display, controls and speaker. The pass-through adaptor creates a neat, fixed microphone connection within the dashboard or another suitable flat panel, and the heavy-duty antenna is mounted to a compatible point on the vehicle’s bull bar.
The XRS-375C provides 5-watt UHF CB transmission, an IP67-rated speaker microphone, a high-contrast colour display, Bluetooth audio and data connectivity, built-in GPS, noise-reduction technology and access to the XRS Connect smartphone application.
The complete system is professionally installed, electrically connected, configured and operationally tested by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.
The XRS-375C uses a compact metal radio chassis designed for installation behind the dashboard or in another protected cabin location. Its compact construction keeps the main unit out of sight while allowing the controller microphone to provide the primary user interface.
A secondary speaker is incorporated into the radio body, supplementing the speaker built into the controller microphone. This dual-speaker arrangement is particularly useful in trucks, motorhomes, work vehicles and other cabins where engine, tyre and road noise can make radio communication difficult to hear.
The supplied MC670B controller microphone incorporates the radio controls, colour display and a powerful 3-watt speaker into one hand-held unit.
The microphone carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating, providing protection against dust and water within the limits of the rating. Its high-contrast anti-glare colour TFT screen displays channel, signal and operating information clearly within the vehicle cabin.
Multiple user-customisable buttons allow frequently used functions to be assigned for quicker access without navigating through the full radio menu.
The radio provides up to 5 watts of transmission power across the Australian UHF CB channel system. It is suitable for vehicle-to-vehicle communication during touring, convoy travel, off-road driving, commercial work and remote-area operation.
Communication range varies according to terrain, antenna position, surrounding structures, atmospheric conditions and the equipment used by the other station.
Integrated noise-reduction technology helps improve voice clarity by reducing unwanted background noise transmitted through the microphone.
This is particularly useful in diesel trucks and other vehicles where engine, airflow, road and equipment noise may otherwise make transmitted speech more difficult to understand.
Bluetooth connectivity allows the radio to exchange audio and data with compatible devices and supports integration with the XRS Connect smartphone application.
The Bluetooth connection enables access to compatible XRS features without requiring the radio body to remain visible or physically accessible.
The XRS-375C includes a built-in GPS receiver, enabling location-aware functions available through the XRS Connect platform.
Compatible location services can be used to share or display position information when communicating with appropriately equipped XRS Connect radios and devices.
The XRS Connect smartphone application provides access to compatible radio settings, firmware updates and connected features.
Supported XRS Connect functions include:
Voice Playback allows recent received transmissions to be replayed through the radio. This is useful when a message is missed because of cabin noise, interruption or poor timing.
Active Mute allows the radio to manage compatible vehicle audio during incoming UHF communication, helping make received transmissions easier to hear.
Operation depends on the radio configuration and the vehicle audio equipment with which the system is integrated.
CrewTalk provides short-range communication between compatible XRS Connect users without occupying the main UHF CB channel being monitored by the radio.
This can be useful for communication between occupants or nearby members of a travelling group where supported devices and configurations are being used.
ScanSuite digital scanning technology provides flexible scanning of selected UHF CB channels and programmed channel groups.
This allows the radio to monitor multiple relevant channels rather than remaining fixed on one channel at all times.
The automatic power-down function can switch the radio off after the vehicle has been inactive, helping reduce unnecessary load on the vehicle battery.
The feature is particularly useful in permanently installed systems where the radio may otherwise be accidentally left operating.
The XRS-375C accepts compatible 12V and 24V vehicle power input, making it suitable for installation in a wide range of four-wheel drives, trucks, motorhomes, agricultural machinery and commercial vehicles.
The completed power connection is protected and integrated with the individual vehicle’s electrical system during installation.
The package includes the AE4704B black heavy-duty radome antenna. The antenna measures 580mm overall and provides 2.1dBi gain.
Its relatively short, lower-gain configuration provides a broad radiation pattern suited to changing terrain, including hilly areas, winding tracks, built-up locations and off-road touring.
The black fibreglass radome protects the antenna element while providing a robust appearance suited to bull bars and heavy-vehicle installations.
The antenna uses a heavy-duty spring base that allows controlled movement when exposed to vibration, rough roads, branches and other normal vehicle operating conditions.
The spring base reduces the amount of movement and impact transferred directly into the antenna whip and bull-bar mounting point.
The antenna uses a ground-independent design, allowing it to operate without relying on a large conductive vehicle-body ground plane.
This makes it well suited to bull bars and other mounting locations where the available ground-plane area may be limited.
The antenna’s interchangeable whip system allows the fitted 2.1dBi whip to be removed from the spring base and replaced with another compatible whip when different operating characteristics are required.
A shorter, lower-gain whip is generally suited to changing or mountainous terrain, while a compatible longer, higher-gain whip may be preferred for flatter and more open country. Additional antenna whips are not included unless separately specified.
The antenna assembly includes a pre-terminated coaxial lead and an FME-to-PL259 adaptor. The smaller FME termination assists with routing the cable through the vehicle before the radio-side adaptor is fitted.
The antenna cable is securely routed from the bull bar into the vehicle cabin and protected against sharp edges, excessive heat, abrasion and moving components.
The fitted package also includes the XRS-RJ45R6 Type 6 RJ45 pass-through adaptor. This creates a fixed connection point for the controller microphone on a suitable dashboard, console or other flat panel.
Instead of leaving a microphone extension cable hanging beneath the dashboard, the adaptor provides a clean, integrated connection that allows the microphone to be connected and disconnected when required.
The pass-through adaptor uses a CAT.6-compliant, fully shielded housing designed to minimise radio-frequency interference.
Lateral supports at the front and rear of the adaptor create a stable RJ45 connection, helping prevent movement of the plug during vehicle operation.
The Type 6 adaptor incorporates red LED backlighting, making the microphone connection easier to locate in the cabin at night.
The illumination uses a separate two-wire connection, with the red wire connected to a compatible 12V dashboard-light circuit and the black wire connected to the negative circuit.
The heavy-duty antenna is professionally mounted to a suitable existing antenna point on the vehicle’s bull bar.
The installation position is selected to provide:
Where the bull bar does not provide a suitable antenna mounting point, an additional vehicle-specific bracket may be required.
This UHF and antenna package is professionally fitted by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop. Installation includes:
Final component positions depend on the vehicle, bull-bar design, dashboard layout, available panel space and existing accessories.

This package uses the current XRS-375C4P radio and antenna combination, together with the XRS-RJ45R6 Type 6 pass-through adaptor.
The antenna is fitted to a suitable existing mounting point on the bull bar. A separate vehicle-specific antenna bracket may be required where the bull bar does not provide a compatible mounting point.
The controller microphone is IP67 rated. This rating does not mean that every component of the installed radio system may be exposed to water. The radio body and cabin connections must be mounted in a protected interior location.
UHF communication range cannot be guaranteed and varies according to terrain, antenna installation, surrounding structures, atmospheric conditions and the equipment used by other stations.
