This professionally fitted UHF communication package combines the GME XRS-330C super-compact 80-channel UHF CB radio, a 970mm elevated-feed antenna, an AM303 stainless-steel antenna mounting bracket and an illuminated XRS-RJ45R6 microphone pass-through adaptor.
The compact radio body is installed discreetly in a protected location inside the vehicle, while the controller microphone provides access to the display, speaker and primary controls. The illuminated pass-through adaptor creates a neat, fixed connection point for the microphone within the dashboard or another suitable flat panel.
The antenna is professionally mounted to a compatible bull-bar tube or other suitable vehicle support using the supplied stainless-steel clamp bracket. The complete system is electrically connected, configured and operationally tested by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.
The XRS-330C is an Australian-made UHF CB radio designed around a super-compact hideaway chassis. Because the display, speaker and operating controls are incorporated into the controller microphone, the main radio body can be installed discreetly behind the dashboard or in another suitable protected cabin location.
This arrangement preserves dashboard space while keeping the radio controls within convenient reach of the driver.
The radio provides Australian 80-channel UHF CB operation with up to 5 watts of transmission power.
It is suitable for communication during:
Actual communication range varies according to terrain, antenna position, surrounding structures, atmospheric conditions and the equipment used by the other station.
The supplied MC664B controller microphone incorporates the radio’s display, speaker and primary controls into a compact handheld unit.
Its high-contrast anti-glare OLED screen clearly displays channel and operating information, while the front-facing 2-watt speaker directs received audio toward the vehicle occupants.
User-customisable buttons allow selected radio functions to be assigned for quicker access without navigating through the complete menu system.
Bluetooth wireless technology allows the radio to connect to a compatible smartphone running the XRS Connect application.
Supported application functions include:
A smartphone is not required for normal UHF CB operation. The radio can be controlled directly from the supplied controller microphone.
The XRS platform supports compatible software updates through the XRS Connect application. This allows available radio improvements and supported features to be installed without replacing the physical radio unit.
The package includes the AE4018BK1 black elevated-feed UHF CB antenna. It measures 970mm in overall length and provides 6.6dBi gain.
The elevated-feed design raises the active radiating element above the mounting point and nearby vehicle obstructions, providing a strong omnidirectional signal pattern from compatible bull-bar, mirror-frame, roof-bar, gutter or fender mounting positions.
The supplied antenna’s 6.6dBi gain concentrates more of the transmitted and received signal toward the horizon. This makes it particularly suitable for relatively flat and open environments such as highways, regional roads, agricultural areas and open touring routes.
A compatible lower-gain whip may be preferred in steep or rapidly changing terrain where a broader radiation pattern is required. Alternative antenna whips are not included unless separately specified.
The antenna uses a ground-independent design and does not rely on a large conductive vehicle-body ground plane for normal operation.
This makes it suitable for the external bracket installation used in this package, including compatible bull-bar tubes and other mounting points where limited ground-plane area is available.
The elevated-feed base helps position the active antenna element above nearby vehicle bodywork and accessories. This allows the antenna to perform effectively even when a roof-centred mounting position is not practical.
The antenna uses a fibreglass whip covered with black heat shrink for a clean, understated appearance. A heavy-duty braided copper element is incorporated within the antenna assembly.
A black barrel-style stainless-steel spring is fitted between the antenna base and whip.
The spring allows controlled movement when the antenna is exposed to vibration, rough roads, branches and other normal vehicle operating conditions, reducing the forces transferred directly into the whip and mounting point.
The antenna lead is supplied with a pre-terminated FME connector. Its compact size assists with routing the coaxial cable through the vehicle before the larger radio-side connector is attached.
An FME-to-PL259 adaptor provides the final connection to the radio.
The antenna is mounted using an AM303 stainless-steel clamp bracket. The bracket is designed for compatible vehicle mirror supports, roof bars and other suitable tubular mounting points.
For this fitted package, the bracket can be secured to a compatible bull-bar tube or another suitable mounting position selected during installation.
The bracket includes:
The selected mounting point must provide sufficient strength and clearance for the 970mm antenna and allow the bracket to be tightened securely.
The package includes the XRS-RJ45R6 universal Type 6 pass-through adaptor. This creates a fixed connection point for the controller microphone in a suitable dashboard, console or other flat interior panel.
The adaptor provides a cleaner installation than leaving the microphone extension cable hanging beneath the dashboard. The microphone can be connected when required and removed without accessing the concealed radio body.
The pass-through adaptor uses a CAT.6-compliant, fully shielded housing designed to minimise radio-frequency interference.
Dual lateral supports at the front and rear stabilise the RJ45 connection and help reduce movement of the plug during vehicle operation.
The pass-through adaptor incorporates red LED backlighting, making the microphone connection easier to locate in the vehicle cabin at night.
The illumination uses a separate two-wire connection. The red wire is connected to a compatible 12V dashboard-light circuit and the black wire is connected to the negative circuit.
This UHF radio and antenna package is professionally fitted by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop. Installation includes:
Final component positions depend on the vehicle, dashboard layout, available panel space, bull-bar or mirror-frame design and existing accessories.

This package includes a stainless-steel clamp-style antenna bracket. The final antenna mounting position depends on the dimensions and construction of the vehicle’s bull bar, mirror support, roof bar or other available tubular mounting point.
The XRS-330CTP package includes a 12V DC power lead. Installation in a vehicle with a 24V electrical system requires a suitable 24V-to-12V converter or compatible regulated power supply, which is not included unless separately specified.
The red illumination in the RJ45 pass-through adaptor requires a compatible 12V dashboard-light circuit.
The radio body and internal electrical connections must be mounted in a suitably protected cabin location.
Communication range cannot be guaranteed and varies according to terrain, antenna position, installation quality, surrounding structures, atmospheric conditions and the equipment used by the other station.
