Fuso FGB71 Dual-Battery System with 3-Position Tray and 200Ah Revolution Lithium Battery – Fitted

This fitted dual-battery system adds a 200Ah Revolution Power LiFePO4 auxiliary battery to a compatible Fuso Canter FGB71. The system includes a chassis-mounted three-position battery tray, a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A DC-DC charger and colour-coded 50A two-pole Anderson connectors.

The three-position tray is designed to accommodate up to three compatible batteries. This package includes one 200Ah Revolution lithium battery installed in one position, leaving the other two tray positions available for compatible future system expansion.

The complete system is professionally mounted, electrically connected, configured and tested by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.

200Ah Revolution Lithium Auxiliary Battery

The system includes one Revolution Power 12V 200Ah lithium iron phosphate battery. The battery provides 200Ah of usable capacity and approximately 2560Wh of stored energy for compatible auxiliary equipment.

LiFePO4 chemistry maintains a relatively stable voltage through the discharge cycle and provides high usable capacity for vehicle-based auxiliary electrical systems.

Integrated Battery-Management System

The Revolution lithium battery incorporates an internal battery-management system that monitors and protects the battery during charging and discharging.

Manufacturer-listed BMS functions include protection against:

  • Overcharging
  • Excessive discharge
  • Cell imbalance
  • Temperature extremes
  • Short circuits

The battery is rated for a maximum continuous discharge of 100A and a peak discharge of 250A. Actual accessory and inverter capacity remains dependent on the complete electrical installation, cabling, circuit protection and connected equipment.

Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A DC-DC Charger

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A is a DC-DC battery charger designed for dual-battery systems in vehicles and boats. It manages charging between the vehicle electrical system and the auxiliary lithium battery rather than directly joining the two batteries together.

The charger provides up to 30A of continuous charging current at its nominal output voltage and uses an adaptive three-stage charging process:

  • Bulk: supplies charging current to replenish the auxiliary battery
  • Absorption: controls voltage while completing the charge
  • Float: maintains the charged battery at a reduced voltage

The charging profile is configured to suit the installed Revolution lithium battery.

Bluetooth Configuration and Monitoring

Built-in Bluetooth allows the Orion-Tr Smart charger to connect to the VictronConnect app on a compatible device.

VictronConnect can be used to:

  • Configure the charging profile
  • Adjust charger operating settings
  • Monitor input and output voltage
  • View the current charging stage
  • Check charger status and warnings
  • Install compatible firmware updates

Engine-Running Detection

The Orion-Tr Smart includes engine-running detection. This allows charging to be enabled when the vehicle’s charging system is operating and stopped when the engine is no longer running.

This controlled operation helps prevent the DC-DC charger from unnecessarily drawing from the vehicle’s starting system while the engine is switched off.

Three-Position Chassis-Mounted Battery Tray

The battery system is installed using a purpose-designed three-position tray mounted to the Fuso FGB71 chassis rails. The tray provides a secure platform for the supplied 200Ah battery and incorporates separate positions for up to three compatible batteries.

This fitted configuration uses one of the available battery positions. The unused positions do not include additional batteries or electrical equipment as part of this product.

The tray includes the associated retaining brackets required to secure the installed battery within the completed chassis-mounted assembly.

50A Anderson Connections

The assembly includes colour-coded two-pole 50A Anderson-style connectors. The red and grey keyed housings help distinguish separate compatible electrical connections within the completed system.

The connector colours are mechanically keyed, so only compatible housings of the same configuration can be connected together.

The 50A designation applies to the connector class. The permitted current for each completed circuit remains limited by the wiring, protection devices, connected equipment and lowest-rated component in that circuit.

Professional Installation

This dual-battery system is professionally fitted by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop. Installation includes:

  • Mounting the three-position battery tray to the FGB71 chassis rails
  • Securing the 200Ah Revolution lithium battery in the tray
  • Mounting the Victron Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger
  • Installing the required battery and charging connections
  • Installing the red and grey 50A two-pole Anderson connectors
  • Configuring the DC-DC charger for the installed lithium battery
  • Checking electrical polarity and connections
  • Operationally testing the completed system

The final component positions and cable routes depend on the vehicle configuration and available chassis space.

Important Note

This package includes one 200Ah lithium battery. Although the supplied tray has three battery positions, the remaining two positions are not fitted with batteries as part of this product.

Adding further batteries requires confirmation of physical compatibility, battery matching, charging capacity, cabling, circuit protection and the complete system design. Additional batteries and associated installation are not included.

Available auxiliary power and permitted electrical loads depend on the connected equipment, circuit protection, cable sizing and complete vehicle electrical configuration.
