The Gen-Y 5" Drop 7000kg Mega Duty Hitch with 50mm/70mm Versa-Ball is a heavy-duty, fully adjustable towing hitch designed for customers who tow multiple trailers or regularly need to alter their coupling height.
Rated for towing up to 7,000kg with a maximum 900kg tongue weight, this hitch combines a robust Class V 2-inch receiver shank with three adjustable mounting positions and a dual-size 50mm/70mm Versa-Ball.
The hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position, allowing the coupling height to be adjusted to help keep the trailer level behind the tow vehicle.
The Mega Duty hitch body provides three mounting positions, allowing the Versa-Ball to be moved higher or lower to suit different trailer coupling heights.
Adjustment is completed by removing the hitch pin, repositioning the Versa-Ball assembly and securing it at the required height. This makes the hitch particularly useful for vehicles towing more than one trailer or trailers with different drawbar heights.
This hitch is designed and tested for use in either the drop or rise position. Turning the hitch body over changes the available adjustment range, providing greater flexibility when matching the tow vehicle receiver height to the trailer coupling.
Correctly matching the coupling height helps keep the trailer as level as possible when towing.
The supplied Versa-Ball incorporates both a 50mm tow ball and a 70mm tow ball in one assembly.
The required ball size can be selected without replacing the entire ball mount, making the hitch suitable for customers towing trailers with different ball coupling sizes.
Tow vehicles and trailers do not always share the same coupling height. Suspension height, tyre size, vehicle load and trailer design can all affect how level the trailer sits once connected.
An adjustable hitch allows the coupling position to be raised or lowered to better match the trailer. This is especially useful for customers who tow multiple trailers, as each trailer may require a different hitch height.
Without sufficient adjustment, a trailer may sit noticeably nose-high or nose-low. The Gen-Y adjustable hitch provides a straightforward way to configure the towing height without requiring a separate fixed ball mount for each trailer.
The Mega Duty Drop Hitch is designed for a wide range of towing applications and can also accept compatible Gen-Y attachments and accessories.
Its adjustable receiver positions allow it to be adapted for conventional bumper-pull trailers and compatible pintle-style towing equipment.
