This professionally fitted mobile signal repeater package is designed to improve compatible mobile voice and data coverage inside trucks, motorhomes, expedition vehicles and other suitable vehicle modules where a usable signal from the selected mobile network is available outside.
The system combines a carrier-specific Cel-Fi mobile signal repeater, a compact external omnidirectional vehicle antenna and an upgraded 8dBi internal panel coverage antenna. The external antenna receives the available network signal, the repeater processes and amplifies it, and the internal panel antenna distributes the improved signal through the vehicle’s occupied area.
The repeater module is installed on the front wall of the driver’s-side refrigerator within the vehicle module. This provides a protected and accessible installation position close to the internal coverage area.
Cel-Fi repeaters are carrier-specific. The customer must specify their mobile network provider when ordering, such as Telstra, Optus or Vodafone, so the appropriate repeater version can be supplied and configured.
The complete system is professionally mounted, electrically connected, configured and operationally tested by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop.
The system is designed to take an available mobile signal from outside the vehicle and provide improved coverage inside the cabin or living module.
The system operates in three stages:
The repeater can improve signal reliability, voice quality and mobile-data performance where a compatible carrier signal is available outside the vehicle. It cannot create network coverage where no usable supported signal reaches the external antenna.
Cel-Fi repeaters operate with a nominated mobile network rather than amplifying every carrier simultaneously. The correct network version must therefore be selected before the system is supplied and installed.
At the time of ordering, the customer must specify their mobile service provider, such as Telstra, Optus or Vodafone.
The repeater model, supported frequencies and carrier configuration supplied with the installation will be selected to suit the nominated network. A repeater configured for one network will not automatically amplify services from another network.
Customers using a mobile virtual network operator should confirm which underlying carrier network their service uses before ordering.
The repeater module is installed on the front wall of the driver’s-side refrigerator within the vehicle module.
This designated mounting position keeps the repeater:
The installation is arranged to maintain suitable cable routing, ventilation and separation between the external donor antenna and the internal coverage antenna.
The external vehicle antenna receives the available mobile signal from surrounding network towers without requiring manual aiming.
Its omnidirectional pattern is suited to mobile applications where the vehicle may regularly change direction or travel between different network towers.
The compact fibreglass antenna uses a stainless-steel spring base to allow controlled movement during normal vehicle vibration, rough-road travel and exposure to wind.
A low-loss coaxial cable connects the external antenna to the repeater’s donor-antenna connection.
The cable is routed and protected against:
Careful cable routing helps preserve the signal received by the external antenna before it reaches the repeater.
The package includes an upgraded 8dBi panel antenna for distributing the repeated mobile signal through the vehicle module.
The antenna has a wide 70-degree beam and a frequency range of 690–4000MHz. Its directional coverage pattern allows it to be aimed toward the main cabin, seating or living area where improved mobile coverage is required.
The panel is housed in a compact white UV-protected ABS enclosure and includes a 200mm RG402 pigtail with an SMA male connector.
The internal panel antenna directs more of its coverage toward the front face of the panel rather than distributing the signal equally in every direction.
This allows the antenna to be positioned toward the primary area where phones, tablets and other compatible mobile devices are normally used.
Internal coverage depends on factors including:
Correct separation between the external donor antenna and internal coverage antenna is essential to repeater performance.
The antennas are positioned to reduce direct feedback between them while directing the repeated signal into the required interior area. The Cel-Fi system then automatically manages the available gain according to the completed installation and prevailing signal conditions.
The Cel-Fi repeater automatically monitors signal conditions and adjusts its operation to provide suitable amplification without causing harmful interference to the selected mobile network.
Depending on the carrier-specific repeater supplied, system-management functions may include:
Bluetooth connectivity allows supported Cel-Fi repeaters to communicate with the Cel-Fi WAVE application on a compatible smartphone or computer.
Available functions may include:
Available application functions depend on the specific carrier-compatible repeater supplied.
This mobile signal repeater package is professionally fitted by AAV4x4 at our Brendale workshop. Installation includes:
Final antenna positions and cable routes depend on the individual vehicle, module construction, internal cabinetry, existing equipment and required coverage area.

The customer must specify their mobile network provider when ordering, for example Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. The repeater supplied will be selected and configured for the nominated carrier.
The repeater is installed on the front wall of the driver’s-side refrigerator within the module.
The system improves an existing compatible mobile signal. It cannot provide coverage where no usable signal from the selected carrier reaches the external antenna.
The exact repeater model, supported bands and electrical requirements may vary according to the nominated mobile network.
Final performance varies with external signal strength, carrier coverage, terrain, antenna placement, antenna separation, vehicle construction and the frequencies available at the vehicle’s location.
